In 2011 Wiz Khalifa went clear to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with his tribute to the sports teams of his hometown of Pittsburgh, "Black and Yellow." It became an anthem for the football Pittsburgh Steelers' appearance in the 2011 Super Bowl. This year NFL and Pepsi are collaborating to try and excite football fans and expand the success to other cities through new songs recorded by top pop stars. First up is Texas native Kelly Clarkson. She has recorded the song "Get Up (A Cowboys Anthem)" to rally Dallas Cowboys fans. The second is New York born Travie McCoy rallying New York Giants fans with "All In." Kid Rock, Wiz Khalifa, and Ice Cube songs are still to come in the next few weeks. Pop fans may download the songs for free with details at the Pepsi NFL Anthems web site. The new NFL football season officially kicks off September 5, 2012 when the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants host the Dallas Cowboys.
