With the explanation that it's not a good career move, Katy Perry has reportedly turned down a $20 million offer from American Idol to be a judge for the upcoming season 12. According to TMZ, the show first offered her $18 million, reportedly the salary commanded by Mariah Carey, and upped the ante to $20 millon when they encountered resistance. However, Katy Perry stood her ground and turned American Idol down. She is in the midst of a phenomenal streak of nine consecutive top 10 pop hit singles. "Wide Awake," the current single, is one of the biggest hits of the summer.
