Madonna's 43rd #1 Dance Hit Brings Her Near A Phenomenal All-Time Chart Record

This week Madonna earns her amazing 43rd #1 hit on Billboard's Dance Club Play chart with "Turn Up the Radio." This puts her well ahead of the second place artist Janet Jackson who has 19. An even more phenomenal fact is that Madonna is now only one hit away from tying the record for the most #1s by an artist on any current Billboard chart. That record is held by George Strait who has 44 #1 hits on the Hot Country Songs chart. When all currently active Billboard charts are put together, Madonna has hit #1 an incredible 156 times. "Turn Up the Radio" will be promoted to pop radio beginning September 25, 2012. It is the third #1 dance hit from the album MDNA.
