It seems that a music video accompanying Taylor Swift's current #1 pop hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" could have easily come off as bitter or even mean-spirited. However, like the song, the tone is light and celebrates solidarity with friends more than dwelling on the end of the relationship. The good-natured clip features band members dressed in furry animal costumes and a single take that follows Taylor Swift through a number of costume changes. The other half of the relationship that has ended does show up in the video, but he is quickly abandoned each time in favor of good times with friends. The music video was directed by Declan Whitebloom who also worked on the "Mean" and "Ours" clips. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 to become Taylor Swift's first chart-topper. It has remained for a second week as sales stay strong and radio airplay is surging. Check out the music video below. It is likely to make you smile.
