There is a distinct feeling of deja vu when looking at the current iTunes digital songs chart. Two years ago leading up to the release of Taylor Swift's hit album Speak Now, she began dominating the sales charts with the timed release of promotional singles. Now the same pattern is happening all over again. Currently, Taylor Swift owns three spots in the top 10 of the iTunes digital songs chart. All are tracks from her upcoming Red album which is due in stores October 22, 2012. Two more songs are expected to be released before the album.
The three songs that have been released thus far represent different aspects of the sound of Taylor Swift. The Billboard Hot 100 #1 smash "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is pure mainstream pop. The second single "Begin Again" is distinctly country. The new release, title song "Red," has a much stronger rock feel. It is still unclear whether the hit charity single "Ronan" will be included on the album or not. Ultimately, all of the songs from the Speak Now charted individually on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Comments
taylor swift said a long time ago that ‘ronan’ would not be on the album. do your research, dammit
The most recent research says that Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records has said they “may have to rethink” whether “Ronan” is included. That has occurred after Taylor Swift made her comment.
Great story!
Good hint at next month’s story…..Taylor may hit the # 2 spot for most hot 100 tracks by a female! Stevie Wonder’s # 10 Hot 100 rank may even be in play if Taylor’s three Target songs are also released.
