This year is the gala 40th year for the American Music Awards. The ceremony will be held November 18, 2012 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and, as always, broadcast live on ABC. This morning the nominations for the 40th celebration were announced. Rihanna and Nicki Minaj lead the nominee pack with four nods each. Justin Bieber and Maroon 5 are also key pop nominees with three nominations including Artist and Album of the Year. Christina Aguilera is the first live performer announced of an expected more than 15 performances at the celebration. Check out the full list of pop and rock nominations.
