Hurricane Sandy

Legendary New Jersey rockers Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi are set to join forces with other stars to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy in their home state and beyond. NBC will broadcast the hour long Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together Friday night November 2, 2012 beginning at 8 p.m. ET hosted by Matt Lauer. NBC cable stations will also host the event and other networks are invited to join in. Among other performers included are New Yorker Billy Joel, Christina Aguilera, Sting, and Jimmy Fallon. Hurricane Sandy slammed into the New Jersey coast October 29, 2012 and sent wind and flooding damage across a vast portion of the eastern U.S. Early damage estimates are a minimum of $20 billion. As of this morning nearly 5 million people remained without electrical service. So far the death toll from the storm is beyond 70 in the US and 70 more in the Caribbean. Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together will be broadcast from Rockefeller Center in New York City.
