iTunes is edging ever closer to being able to truly lay claim to being a comprehensive music store representing the full range of classic and contemporary pop and rock music. Today Columbia Records and Apple jointly announced that the music of heavy metal legends AC/DC will be available for purchase online through iTunes. Less than a month ago, Kid Rock, another long-term holdout, began releasing his music on iTunes. Country superstar Garth Brooks remains one of the very few major artists who still are not represented in the digital music giant's store. Clearly, there was an audience waiting for this announcement. AC/DC's classic album Back In Black is resting inside the top 15 on the iTunes album chart after less than a day on sale.
