Gotye Tops Year End Spotify Streaming Charts In Both the US and UK

Gotye Somebody That I Used To Know

If Spotify streaming is an indication, Gotye's breakthrough pop smash hit "Somebody That I Used To Know" was the biggest of the year on both sides of the Atlantic. Four other songs reached the top 10 in both countries. They included Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," Flo Rida's "Wild Ones," fun's "We Are Young," and Nicki Minaj's "Starships." 2012 has been the first full year in which the Spotify service was available in the US. The year end list is the first published for Spotify in the US. The entire top 10 streaming songs were major pop chart hits as well except for atmospheric pop band M83's "Midnight City." It was one of the most critically acclaimed songs of 2011 but only reached #72 on the Billboard Hot 100. Check out the full list of top 10 songs streamed in the US below.
