It's official. Simon Cowell is determined to turn X Factor USA contestants Emblem3 into the American One Direction. The Huntington Beach, California based trio of 19 year old Wesley Stromberg, 16 year old Keaton Stromberg, and 20 year old Drew Chadwick finished fourth in the second season of X Factor USA. However, their mentor Simon Cowell indicated that he planned to sign the group to a contract regardless of where they finished in the competition.
The debut album by Emblem3, which is already being recorded, will be executive produced by Savan Kotecha, vocal producer for X Factor and a key songwriter / producer for One Direction. The band's first collection will also be the first release on Savan Kotecha's new label Kanani released under Simon Cowell's Syco. Emblem3's Wesley says of the deal, "With our new teammates at Columbia and Syco and along with Savan, I hope we can not only produce some empowering tunes, but also impact other people in a positive way and maybe help brighten things up a bit."
