It was never confirmed officially that it would happen, but the Destiny's Child reunion of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams was not a big surprise in Beyonce's Super Bowl XLVII halftime performance. However, it was a thrill to see the trio back together onstage performing segments of their hits like "Bootylicious" and then, in a highlight of the entire show, joining in on Beyonce's now iconic "Single Ladies." Last month the trio released a new song titled "Nuclear." However, there is no indication the reunion will go any further.
The entire show was a solid, entertaining extravaganza that focused firmly on the star herself instead of getting too bogged down in special effects and special guests. Since leaving Destiny's Child, Beyonce has released four consecutive platinum certified #1 albums and 12 top 10 pop hit singles. Without current releases to promote, her Super Bowl show was a strong overview of the performance power of one of today's top pop music icons. Check out the full performance below.
