The new Mariah Carey single from the upcoming Disney film Oz: The Great and Powerful will be released tomorrow. A snippet has already been released, and it sounds like a return to classic form for Mariah Carey. The uptempo song was co-produced by hitmakers Stargate. An upcoming accompanying video was directed by celebrated photographer David LaChapelle. Some fans have complained about the breathiness of vocals and Mariah Carey's voice being buried in the production on recent releases. The clip of "Almost Home" has her singing in full voice that recalls many of her past hits. The new single is being serviced first to adult contemporary radio, and it will simultaneously be available to purchase as a digital single. The film Oz: The Great and Powerful hits theaters March 8, 2013.
Mariah Carey, with 18 #1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, is one of the top selling pop artists of all time. Her album sales exceed 60 million in the US alone. Mariah Carey is currently getting primetime TV exposure as a judge on American Idol. Check out "Almost Home" below.
