The Now That's What I Call Music franchise rambles on. This is another strong set and any listener would get a good idea of the sound of pop music from the summer of 2005. Following a similar formula to Now! 19, this collection balances the pop and r&b well with a token nod to country music.
Mainstream Pop Very Well Represented
Mainstream pop music from this last summer is very well represented. Rihanna's "Pon De Replay," the Black Eyed Peas' "Don't Phunk With My Heart," and Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha" are all likely to be forever associated with the summer of 2005. There are 14 songs here that reached the top 40 on the Billboard Pop 100. Of those, 11 made it to the top 10. 8 R&B chart hits are included and once again Keith Urban represents country music. This time it is "You'll Think Of Me," a hit on some pop radio stations as well, that is included.
Nothing New In This Set
In the past some of the Now! sets included recently released singles still looking to chart. For this collection, this is not the case. All of the songs included have either reached their peak or completed their chart runs. While that insures that most of this album is already familiar, it does miss the opportunity to introduce listeners to new music that would soon be impacting radio airwaves.

The Venerable Franchise Marches On
The Now! franchise marches on and show no signs of stopping. It has been approximately 4 months since Now! 19 appeared. While they are certainly not artful mix tapes, it looks like we can look forward to these regular wrapups of the world of pop music for years to come.
