The long-standing NOW! franchise is at its best when it balances recent megahits with songs still on the rise. Almost all of the songs included here have reached their peak or are well past making this collection already seem a bit dated. However, if you've been derelict at collecting recent pop hits, as usual, this is the souvenir for you.
The Mega Hits Are Here
If you are looking for the latest pop mega hits, they are here. Rihanna's massive pop-dance smash "SOS", Daniel Powter's ubiquitous "Bad Day", and Beyonce's Check On It will quench your appetite for the megahits. In fact only the token country song from Keith Urban has missed being a significant pop hit. You are unlikely to discover anything less than familiar here.
Likely to Hit #1
NOW! That's What I Call Music! collections have a quite impressive chart record, and this set is very unlikely to end that winning streak. Look for this to be a top contender to open at #1 on the pop albums chart.

The Venerable Franchise Marches On
There was a time when the NOW! collections were something to look forward to as they may include some of the new songs just beginning to impact pop radio. However, it seems that the major labels that put together these collections are content for now to just deliver songs that have already been hits. You could easily have put together this CD yourself via iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, or any of the major digital music services. However, NOW! remains a haven for the laidback pop fan.
