It had been floating around the Internet as a rumor for a couple of weeks, and now the news is official. 2005 American Idol runner-up Bo Bice, age 29, is now married to Caroline Fisher, age 24. The pair exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Helena, Alabama at the New Hope Presbyterian Church June 15th. Alert fans had spotted a marriage license issued to Harold Elwin Bice, Jr. in the Shelby County Register newspaper.
Although Bo Bice finished second to Carrie Underwood in this year's American Idol competition, his popularity has nearly equalled that of the winner. Bice finished first in an About Top 40 poll pitting his single release of "Inside Your Heaven" vs. Carrie Underwood's version. This week Bo Bice's single debuted at the top of the Billboard pop singles chart.
Bo Bice and his new bride Caroline Fisher first met nearly 2 years ago when he was working as a guitar store clerk and she waited tables at a restaurant that he frequented in Hoover, Alabama. They now share a 2-bedroom house with a variety of pets including 3 dogs, 3 cats and 2 turtles. Rumors had linked Bice romantically with eventual American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, but he answered those in an interview with MTV. "I love her so much, she's like a sister to me...But I'm also just truly grateful to have her as a friend." The new couple will have a few weeks to enjoy married life at home before Bice sets out on the American Idol Finalists tour beginning July 12th.
