"This Woman's Work" - March 10, 2010

"This Woman's Work" was first written and performed by Kate Bush for the soundtrack to the film She's Having a Baby in 1988. It was then included on and released as a single from the 1989 album The Sensual World. The song went to #25 on the UK pop singles chart. R&B singer Maxwell released a studio recording of "This Woman's Work" in 2001 on his Now album. It was a top 20 R&B single and went clear to #2 on the adult contemporary chart.

In the original James Brown tells the world that men are responsible for almost every important creative effort in the world, but it would mean nothing "without a woman or a girl." His powerful performance went to #8 on the pop chart in 1966. The title is a take off on the 1963 film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

"This Love" - February 24, 2010

Maroon 5's "This Love" hit the charts in 2004 as the band's second top 40 single. It went clear to #5 and won the group a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocals. The official video for the song generated controversy for its explicit sexual content.
