Formation of Danity Kane:
Danity Kane are the third pop group formed via the MTV reality show Making the Band. Danity Kane began in 2005 with Diddy seeking a replacement for the previous, failed Making the Band group Da Band. Through three seasons of the show viewers got to see auditions and the whittling down of the band to final members, the band's first live performances, and recording of their album.

Danity Kane's Debut Album:
Danity Kane have worked with some of the top production talent in the music business for their self-titled debut album. These include Scott Storch, Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, and Ryan Leslie among others. The first single from the album is "Show Stopper," and the album will be released to stores August 22, 2006.
Trivia Fact About Danity Kane:
Group member Dawn draws anime characters. One day in the studio Diddy asked her the name of one of the characters she had drawn. She replied "Danity Kane," and that was the birth of the group's name representing a type of female superhero.
