In October 2002 Nick Lachey married Jessica Simpson, another successful pop singer. Blessed with impressive good looks, the couple were a favorite of celebrity photographers, and, ultimately, tabloids. The pair were hired by MTV to star in a reality show based on their daily life called Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
The show was an instant sensation. It was given credit for jumpstarting Jessica's singing career, but it failed to generate interest in Nick's first album SoulO. Nick also tried his hand at acting in the TV series Charmed and the movie Bewitched.
