Nicole Scherzinger's Birth and Growing Up:

Nicole Scherzinger was born June 29, 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her birth name was Nicole Elikolani Prescovia, but she grew up with her mother and stepfather Gary Scherzinger in Louisville, Kentucky, and Nicole took his surname as her own. She attended the Youth Performing Arts School of duPont Manual High School in Louisville and then attended Wright State University, but Nicole Scherzinger put her studies on hold in 1999 to pursue a career in music.

Member of Eden's Crush:

Nicole Scherzinger's first band experience was as a singer in the grunge-rock band Days of the New. In 2001 she competed in the debut season of the TV show Popstars and earned a position in the newly formed band Eden's Crush. The band recorded the top 5 pop single "Get Over Yourself" and their debut album Popstars also hit the top 10. However, the fame was short-lived and the group disbanded in 2002.

Nicole Scherzinger Becomes Nicole Kea of Pussycat Dolls:

In June, 2003, Nicole Scherzinger joined the burlesque troupe the Pussycat Dolls just as they were preparing to become recording artists. Initially re-named Nicole Kea for the act, Nicole Scherzinger became the primary voice on record for the group and the leader of the group both in the studio and on stage. The Pussycat Dolls became a smash success with 3 top 10 pop singles and a top 5 album.

'Doll Domination':

The Pussycat Dolls released their second album Doll Domination in 2008. It went to #4 on the album chart and included the group's fourth top 10 pop hit "When I Grow Up." The song "I Hate This Part" also became a major hit climbing to #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Following promotion of the album, it was revealed there would be major shakeups in the personnel of the Pussycat Dolls.

Nicole Scherzinger's favorite holiday songs are "O Holy Night" and "Silent Night" sung in Hawaiian.

Nicole Scherzinger Solo Career:

The initial plans revealed about shakeups in the Pussycat Dolls were that the group would be reformed around Nicole Scherzinger. During this time, she pursued her own solo career. She became familiar to US TV audiences when she won Dancing With the Stars in early 2010. Nicole Scherzinger appeared on the UK talent show X Factor in 2010 as a guest judge replacing Cheryl Cole during her illness. In October 2010 her single "Poison" became a top 10 hit in the UK. By the end of the year Nicole Scherzinger announced that she was leaving Pussycat Dolls.

Nicole Scherzinger's debut album Killer Love was released in the UK in March 2011 and hit the top 10 while spawning two more top 10 pop singles. It is slated for a November 2011 US release to capitalize on her TV appearance as one of the judges on the first season of the US version of X Factor.
