The American Music Awards were established in 1973 by Dick Clark as a competitor to the Grammy Awards. Now in their 37th year they are recognized as one of the 3 most prestigious pop music awards events, along with the Grammy Awards, and the MTV Video Music Awards, in the U.S.
The American Music Awards ceremonies will take place on Sunday, November 21, 2010. They will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Television.
