The MTV Video Music Awards were established in 1984 to celebrate the best in music video. Since that time the event has emerged as one of the 4 most important pop music awards ceremonies in the US of the year.
The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony will take place Sunday, September 9, 2007. It will be broadcast live from Las Vegas Palms Casino Resort, Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. A pre-show will be broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. ET on MTV including red carpet arrivals and performances by Nicole Scherzinger and Lil Wayne.
