Background

They're based in Boston, due to 4 of the 5 band members having attended the esteemed Berklee College Of Music in Boston, but they hail from across the U.S. counting Colorado, Kansas, Indiana, and Pennsylvania as home states. The nucleus of the group formed in October, 2003 as the Click. They gained national exposure touring in 2004 as an opening act with Ashlee Simpson. The band signed with major label Lava Records in October, 2004. For the Click Five's major label debut they collaborated with classic rockers Elliot Easton of the Cars and Paul Stanley of Kiss. Mike Denneen, producer of Fountains Of Wayne, did the production work for the album.

Sound

Where a love of the Beatles and Beach Boys meets the power pop of Cheap Trick and the Cars is where you'll find the Click Five. There are elements of contemporary punk pop and emo mixed in as well, particularly on the songs written by Fountains Of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger. The band's primary songwriter, keyboardist Ben Romans, acknowledges debts to the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and Beatle Paul McCartney.

On the Horizon

The Click Five's single "Just the Girl" is climbing the pop charts nationally and is nearing the pop top 40 after just 4 weeks on the chart. They are currently touring as opening act on the Backstreet Boys Never Gone tour. The major label debut album Greetings From Imrie House is due August 16th.
