Miami-Dade County Relief Concert
the Miami music community is getting together to present a Hurricane Katrina benefit concert at American Airlines Arena Sunday, September 25, 2005. Actor Andy Garcia and actress Debbie Allen will host the show. Among those signed on to perform are Arturo Sandoval, Ed Calle, Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, Michael Bolton, Natalie Cole, Betty Wright, Willy Chirino, James Ingram, Vikki Carr, Jon Secada, Kim and Hill, and Richard Clayderman.
The event is co-sponsored by Miami-Dade County, the Kiwanis of Little Havana, American Airlines, the city of Miami, Comcast, Creative Ideas Advertising, Siglo Music Group, Turi's Music Group, the Greater Miami Visitors and Convention Bureau, Cox Radio, Univision Radio, The Heat Group, Miami-Dade College and the Cuban-American Bar Association. In recognition that Katrina first hit south Florida the proceeds from this concert will first be used to support victims of the hurricane in Florida and then go to the state of Mississippi.One Country
Country Music Television (CMT) is hosting a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina victims Saturday, October 1, 2005 that will air live from Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Among the stars scheduled to appear are George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson and Martina McBride.
