Linkin Park have been most closely associated with the genre known as nu metal. They incorporate elements of hip hop and electronic music into more traditional rock.

  • Hybrid Theory (Warner Bros.) (2000)

Hybrid Theory was the name of the group before they named themselves Linkin Park. As such, they released a Hybrid Theory EP which helped them get signed to Warner Bros. This is their first full-length album. It became the best-selling album in the US in 2001 reaching #2 on the album chart and generating the #2 pop single "In the End."

  • Reanimation (Warner Bros.) (2002)

While the world waited for the second Linkin Park album to appear, this set of remixes and reworkings of many of the songs from Hybrid Theory appeared. It has generated considerable controversy among fans. Some see the reworked versions as so different it amounts to an entirely new album, while others see it as simply derivative. The album was another #2 hit and sold over 1 million copies.

  • Meteora (Warner Bros.) (2003)

Linkin Park's second proper studio album went straight to #1 and ultimately sold over 6 million copies. It included the hit single "Numb" which just missed the pop top 10.

  • Collision Course (Warner Bros.) (2004)

This project reportedly began with MTV approaching rapper Jay-Z about a mash-up project, putting together 2 different songs to create an original mix. Jay-Z was allowed to pick the band he wanted to work with, and he approached Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. The result was this EP combining Linkin Park songs with Jay-Z's own material. Collision Course earned the band a Grammy Award. Linkin Park performed a mash-up of their "Numb" with Jay-Z's "Encore" and Paul McCartney contributing the Beatles' "Yesterday" at the 2006 Grammy Award celebration.

  • Minutes to Midnight (Warner Bros.) (2007)

This will be Linkin Park's third studio album of all new material. It is scheduled to be released May 15, 2007. The single "What I've Done" preceded the album and was an instant top 10 pop hit.

In addition to the above official releases, Linkin Park has also released a series of Underground EP's to their official fan club. Many of the recordings included are live tracks.
