Mariah Carey - Emancipation Of Mimi

The Emancipation Of Mimi

Jul 22 2005

Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" is proving to be a very durable hit single. It is once again at the top of the Billboard pop singles chart. The nearest threat to its stay on top next week seems to be Rihanna's "Pon De Replay" that rises a single notch into the #5 position. A bit further down Missy Elliott's "Lose Control" rises to log its first week in the top 10. Rob Thomas' "This Is How a Heart Breaks," a likely future hit, soars 25 spots to #50.

On the radio airplay chart, Mariah Carey is holding the peak position for the 5th week in a row with "We Belong Together," but it does drop slightly in number of radio spins for the week. The biggest gainer in the top 10 is D.H.T.'s "Listen To Your Heart" at #5. The biggest gainer overall is "Cool" by Gwen Stefani which moves from #24 to #19.

Meanwhile, on the pop albums chart R. Kelly spends his second week at the top with TP.3 Reloaded. There are 2 strong debuts in the top 3. Slim Thug makes his first week appearance at #2 with Already Platinum. Bow Wow's Wanted, featuring his hit single "Let Me Hold You", opens at #3.
