In just its third week on the Billboard pop singles chart, Kanye West's "Gold Digger," featuring Jamie Foxx, climbs one notch into the #1 spot. It's not the only hot single, however. Black Eyed Peas leap 8 places to #6 with "My Humps." Unfortunately, they can't claim 2 top 10 hits since "Don't Lie" slips to #12 after only 2 weeks in the top 10. After over 5 months on the chart Weezer's "Beverly Hills" finally lands in the top 10 making it easily the biggest pop single hit of the group's career.

On the album chart Kanye West keeps a firm group on the top for a second week with Late Registration . 50 Cent nearly knocked him out of #1 by rising 33 places back to #2 with his new special edition of The Massacre , the best-selling album of the year so far. The action at the top of the chart means the Rolling Stones are only able to muster a #3 opening for their album A Bigger Bang. On the heels of the success of their new single "Wake Me Up When September Ends," Green Day's American Idiot re-enters the top 10 in its 51st week on the chart.

On pop radio, Kanye West has a considerable distance to climb to reach the peak. "Gold Digger" is the fastest rising single, but at #33, it is still far from the top. In Kanye West's absence, Mariah Carey slides into the #1 position with "Shake It Off."
