Bo Bice Follows Carrie Underwood To the Top

Sales Don't Match Underwood's First Week

A week after Carrie Underwood powered her way onto the top of the pop singles chart in her first week with "Inside Your Heaven," her runner-up Bo Bice accomplishes the same feat with his own version of "Inside Your Heaven." However, Bice did not match Underwood in first week sales. Carrie Underwood sold 130,000 copies of her single in its first week of release while Bice sold only 106,000. Over on Billboard's catch-all Hot 100 chart Bo Bice failed to capture the top of the chart due to Mariah Carey's rise back into the #1 spot with her single "We Belong Together." Mariah has not yet managed to hit the top of the pop singles chart, holding firm once again at #2.

Further down the pop singles chart things are fairly static except for Rihanna's near miss at the top 10 with "Pon De Replay" rising to #11. Belgian dance artists D.H.T. enter the top 20 for the first week with their remake of Roxette's "Listen To Your Heart."

On the album chart Coldplay holds for a 3rd week at the top with their album X&Y. Mariah Carey rises back to #2 for her 11th consecutive week in the top 5 with her comeback album The Emancipation Of Mimi. Boyz N Da Hood's self-titled album, Keyshia Cole's The Way It Is, the Offspring's Greatest Hits, and Birdman's Fast Money all debut this week inside the top 10.

On the radio Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" spends its 2nd week at the summit. Kelly Clarkson moves one notch up to #2 with "Behind These Hazel Eyes" although there is significant distance between her and Mariah Carey. Rihanna's "Pon De Replay" climbs 10 notches to #11 and Natasha Bedingfield's "These Words" is showing some strength rising to #21. Gwen Stefani's "Cool," the 4th single from her album Love, Angel, Music, Baby, is the most added single without an official push to radio.
