Due to UK chart rules, the 5-track EP released this week by the Arctic Monkeys fails to make it onto the singles chart even though its sales would have likely made the EP a #1 hit. This allows Gnarls Barkley to spend a strong 5th week at the top with "Crazy." Next week Gnarls Barkley is likely to receive a strong challenge from Red Hot Chili Peppers when their new hit "Dani California" is released in physical form.

It is no surprise that Gnarls Barkley takes over the album chart this week with "Crazy" holding on for a 5th week at the top of the singles chart. However, it is fascinating to see Bruce Springsteen open at #3 with a collection of American folk songs. A bit further down Rihanna has a quite respectable debut at #6 with her second album in less than a year.
