Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" is the first single since 1994 to pile up 8 weeks at the top of the UK pop singles chart, and this week nothing really came close to deposing "Crazy" from the summit. The single that racked up those weeks back in 1994 was Wet Wet Wet's "Love Is All Around." It held out for 15 weeks at the top. Gnarls Barkley have a long way to go for that mark. Christina Milian is the only new member of the top 5 at a relatively weak #4. Anti-technology Sandi Thom is the highest debut clear down at #15. This is her first single from the album Smile...It Confuses People reportedly recorded in a barn.

Red Hot Chili Peppers keep a firm grip on the top album slot this week. Beautiful South's Superbi is their first top 10 studio album since 2000. The Raconteurs, the new side group from the White Stripes' Jack White, looks strong in their #2 debut that features the top 10 pop singles hit "Steady As She Goes."
