Comments

Shakira and Wyclef Jean displace Nelly Furtado at the top this week. Consequently, "Hips Don't Lie" becomes Shakira's first #1 pop single on both sides of the Atlantic. Michael Jackson debuts inside the top 20 for his 19th chart hit in the last 19 weeks. Re-releasing a career of singles and having all of them chart is quite an accomplishment, but the shine wears off a bit when one realizes none of the singles managed to make it inside the top 10.

Lostprophets score their first #1 album as Liberation Transmission debuts at the top. A bit further down the strong showing of the Pussycat Dolls single "Buttons" helps pull the album PCD back into the top 10 at #7.
