It appears that much of the controversy surrounding the singles "Deja Vu" and "Ring the Alarm" at home in the US has not transferred overseas. This week Beyonce leaps from #21 to the top of the chart with "Deja Vu." It is her second solo single in the UK (after "Crazy in Love") to reach the peak. It looks like Justin Timberlake will have a good shot at dethroning Beyonce next week. His single "SexyBack" debuts at #13 on the strength of downloads alone. It would be his first chart-topping single in the UK.

Comments

Snow Patrol return to the top of the chart on the strength of their single "Chasing Cars." This drops Christina Aguilera to #2 after just one week at the peak. Outkast will be hoping for significantly better chart performance at home in the US than their #16 debut on the chart in the UK. Oukast's last 2 studio albums were top 10 hits in the UK.
