This week's singles chart proves the power of Internet music communities. The Arctic Monkeys have been part of a meteoric rise to fame this year including a recent highly publicized sold-out concert at the London Astoria. Much of their publicity has come via Internet-based fan communities and sharing of digital files of their songs. This week they debut at the top with their very first commercially released pop single "I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor." The Monkeys' success overshadows the 7th straight top 5 hit by teen pop band McFly.
