Comments

Akon and Eminem prevent Justin Timberlake from once again occupying the #1 spot on both sides of the Atlantic with his single "My Love." The big news of the week for UK pop fans is the dramatic reappearance of Take That 10 years after the seminal boy band broke up. "Patience" opens at #6 on downloads only. It should have an easy path to the top next week. Another welcome return is Emma Bunton, formerly of the Spice Girls, with a remake of Petula Clark's classic "Downtown." It should roar into the top reaches of the chart next week as well.

The Christmas shopping continues with the top 4 slots on the album chart occupied by greatest hits packages. George Michael's solo plus Wham set Twenty Five comes out on top this week. A bit further down the chart former Blue member Simon Webbe opens at a strong #11 with his second solo collection.
