Comments
Madonna holds on to the top spot for a 2nd week. "Hung Up" is her first single to spend at least 2 weeks at #1 since "Vogue" over 15 years ago. Westlife is doggedly hanging on to the #2 spot with "You Raise Me Up." They have already spent over a month in one or the other of the top 2 slots. Black Eyed Peas make a strong #3 debut with "My Humps." It went to #2 in the U.S. a short time back. The remaining top 5 debuts belong to reliable chart residents Girls Aloud and Will Young.

Comments
Madonna scores her 3rd double (#1 album and single) on the UK Charts, but it is her first since the 1980's. Robbie Williams is in the top 5 albums twice this week with his latest solo release Intensive Care and as a member of Take That whose retrospective compilation enters the chart at a strong #2. That's not bad for a group that disbanded over 9 years ago. A bit further down the chart ex-Libertine Pete Doherty shuffles onto the chart at #10 with the first album by his new group Babyshambles.
