Comments

As expected, the Take That comeback is now complete with "Patience," their first new single in 10 years, becoming the group's 9th #1 hit song. Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton shows strength as well as her version of "Downtown" just misses the #2 peak of the classic version by Petula Clark by one spot. It looks like a third smash single from the album Loose for Nelly Furtado. "All Good Things (Come to an End)" opens at #13 this week based on downloads only while "Say It Right" has just entered the top 40 in the US for her third hit from Loose on that side of the Atlantic.

Comments

Westlife conquer the flood of greatest hits releases with a studio album of remakes of classic love songs. Their version of "The Rose" has blazed the trail for a likely clutch of hit singles to come. A titanic battle for second place among Oasis, the Beatles, and U2 resulted in the most British of guitar bands, Oasis, taking the prize.
