James Blunt holds on to the top of the pop singles chart. He is the first British artist to hit the top in the U.S. since 1997. Cascada zooms into the top 5 with the dance smash "Everytime We Touch." Daniel Powter is benefiting from the extensive exposure of his single "Bad Day" on American Idol, and Prince squeezes Jessica Simpson's ex out of the top debut spot this week.

Hot New Albums

Comments

It's an unprecedented kid-friendly top 3 this week. Disney, Kidz Bop and Curious George are the chart-toppers. After the Kidz Bop collection, the next highest debut is the Arctic Monkeys inside the top 25 on the basis of strong media promotion with very little radio airplay. The next few weeks it will be interesting to see if the group maintains their buzz. An upcoming Saturday Night Live appearance on March 11 could be crucial.

Big Chart Movers

Comments

Outside of Natasha Bedingfield's leap into the top 5, the radio chart is relatively quiet this week. This is the lull before the first big wave of spring new releases.
