After just missing the top last summer when "Pon De Replay" hit #2, it didn't take Rihanna long to claim a #1 single. "SOS" roars into the top slot this week from #7 on the heels of its first digital release. The second single from Rihanna's album A Girl Like Me is also roaring up the chart climbing 41 places to #34 this week. 2 other singles, Fort Minor's "Where'd You Go" and Chamillionaire's "Ridin'," are showing serious strength as they enter the top 10.

Just as Daniel Powter is leaving the #1 spot on the overall pop singles chart, he is entering the top 5 in pop airplay. Rihanna takes over the #1 airplay spot with "SOS" giving her convincing control as the top pop song in the country. Her next hit is already gathering steam with a 12 notch jump to #34.
