Comments

Nelly Furtado just misses the top spot this week with a big leap from #9 to #2. Instead, Daniel Powter returns to the top for one more week as American Idol finishes out its season. Speaking of Idol, 4 of the contestants debut on this week's chart led by Chris Daughtry who suffered a surprise early elimination. Even though "SOS" fell out of the top spot, Rihanna is still one of the hottest artists around. "Unfaithful" has now joined "SOS" inside the top 10.

Comments

Even with rejection from the country music establishment, the Dixie Chicks managed to sell over 500,000 copies to take the top spot on the chart. American Idol's new album of top moments from the finalists has the bestselling opening yet for a collection from the show, and High School Musical soars upward again with a boost from the release of the movie's DVD.

Big Chart Movers

Comments

There is just a little minor shuffling in the top 5, but a bit further down Cassie continues to make strong upward moves with her first single, and Panic! at the Disco is swiftly picking up speed with their single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." It looks like "Tragedies" could be this year's "Sugar, We're Goin' Down."
