Nelly Furtado manages to squeeze into the top spot this week with "Promiscuous" meaning she is on top of the pop singles chart on both sides of the Atlantic. However, it is a unique situation in the fact that her #1 in the UK is a different song, "Maneater." Thumbing her nose at critics, Paris Hilton soars 28 notches to #15 with her first chart single "Stars Are Blind." Janet Jackson and Jessica Simpson debut this week on the chart, but their mid-70's showings pale next to Beyonce's opening last week nearly in the top 40.
