Comments

Chalk up an 8th week for Kanye West at the top, but Chris Brown's "Run It!" could provide a threat as it moves 2 notches from #5 to #3. The Pussycat Dolls take a large leap to pick up their second top 10 hit with "Stickwitu." Pharrell, 1/2 of the superstar production team of the Neptunes, is one of the top debuts on both UK and US pop charts this week.

Hot New Albums

Comments

No one should be surprised by the #1 debut of the 20th installment in the Now That's What I Call Music! franchise. This multi-label collaboration has sold over 50 million albums through the years. It's a good week for Santana opening at #2 with All That I Am, but it still has a long way to go to come anywhere near the massive sales of Supernatural, the album that included "Smooth," one of the biggest pop hits of all time. Nickelback continues to rack up strong sales as All the Right Reasons spends its 5th week in the top 5 and is older than any other album in the top 10 except Black Eyed Peas Monkey Business.

Best Bets For Next Week's Album Chart

  • Soundtrack - Get Rich Or Die Tryin'
Sales should be very strong for this new hip hop collection starring 50 Cent. Some estimates range over 1 million copies in the first week.
  • Kenny Chesney - The Road and the Radio
It's Chesney's first studio album since his brief marriage to Renee Zellweger and should keep him near the top of current country artists.
  • Neil Diamond - 12 Songs
The music press has eagerly awaited this collaboration with producer Rick Rubin. Is the music buying public as interested as the press?

Comments

Kelly Clarkson takes over the top spot with her emotional ballad "Because Of You." Pretty Ricky enters the top 10 after a long, slow climb with "Your Body," and Kanye West has another hot hit on his hands to follow up the success of "Your Body."
