The U.S. pop singles chart is experiencing its usual Christmas/New Year holiday slowdown. The top 5 singles are exactly the same in exactly the same spots as last week. A bit further down it is a big week for the About Top 40 visitors' New Artist of the Year James Blunt. His first single "You're Beautiful" leaps 20 spots to #22 while his new U.K. single "Goodbye My Lover" shows up on the pop singles chart on this side of the Atlantic at #70.

Carrie Underwood is showing some staying power after a month on the chart, and Lindsay Lohan's album A Little More Personal (Raw) opens in disappointing fashion barely inside the top 20.
