Gwen Stefani turns to help from red-hot Akon to try and come up with a bigger hit than the lackluster "Wind It Up." The Fray have the top debut bringing John Lennon's classic "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" to the pop singles chart. Fall Out Boy have two new battling singles. "The Carpal Tunnel of Love" is an iTunes only single while "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" is the official first single from their upcoming album Infinity on High.

Taylor Hicks' first week sales are a slight bit off of Carrie Underwood's first week last year, and he fails to hold off Young Jeezy's second solo release for the #1 spot on the chart. This time last year Mary J. Blige was opening with a mammoth first week of sales for The Breakthrough. This year she settles for much more modest opening sales due to the fact she is releasing a new greatest hits collection Reflections instead of a new studio set.
