These are the hottest 10 pop songs of the week as determined by About Top 40. This chart is compiled consulting data from various music industry charts and sources. It is intended to indicate the hottest rising hits. Recordings that have reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart are disqualified from this chart.

1. Icona Pop - "I Love It" featuring Charli XCX

"I Love It's" slow rise up on the pop charts in the US has turned into a major surge making it the hottest chart song of the week. The breakthrough for the Swedish duo Icona Pop is turning into a hit with both mainstream pop and dance audiences. "I Love It" is already a top 10 pop hit in Australia, Canada, and at home in Sweden.

2. Justin Timberlake - "Mirrors"

"Mirrors" has pleased long-term Justin Timberlake fans because the sound of the song echoes his previous pop triumphs on the album FutureSex / LoveSounds. Speculation abounds that the song is about his wife Jessica Biel. "Mirrors" has gone to #1 on the pop singles chart in the UK and the top 10 in many countries around the world.

3. Demi Lovato - "Heart Attack"

Demi Lovato recently released the accompanying music video for "Heart Attack" to strong acclaim. She has received strong positive comparisons to Kelly Clarkson for the quality of her vocals on this hit. This week "Heart Attack" moved into the top 10 in mainstream pop radio airplay.

4. Selena Gomez - "Come and Get It"

"Come and Get It" is officially the debut solo single from Selena Gomez. She blends together Indian beats, a touch of Rihanna's island pop, and electronic dance music flourishes. Selena Gomez performed the song live this past weekend at the MTV Movie Awards. A debut full length album is expected in coming months.


5. Avril Lavigne - "Here's To Never Growing Up"

Avril Lavigne promised her fans that she would return to a more fun sound with this single from her upcoming fifth studio album. She worked with Martin Johnson of the band Boys Like Girls as producer. The song has received a positive response from critics, and it is already a top 40 hit at mainstream top 40 radio.


6. Fall Out Boy - "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)"

Fall Out Boy's fifth studio album Save Rock and Roll hits stores today. Their last three studio releases all reached the top 10 on the album chart in the US. "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark" is a top 5 rock hit and has also reached the top 20 on the alternative songs chart. It climbed to #5 on the UK pop singles chart.

7. Psy - "Gentleman"

It is doubtful that Psy's new single "Gentleman" will be a hit with anywhere close to the impact of his worldwide phenomenon "Gangnam Style," however it is already making itself known on pop charts. "Gentleman's" accompanying music video has already set YouTube records for the most first day views and the biggest three day total of views. However it has a long way to go to match "Gangnam Style's" 1.5 billion views audience.

8. Krewella - "Alive"

Chicago based dance trio Krewella draw on the dance music genres house, dubstep, and moombahton for their inspiration. The song "Alive" has broken them into mainstream pop charts here in the US, and the success of the song is starting to move overseas. "Alive" has climbed into the top 50 of the pop singles chart in Canada.

9. will.i.am - "#thatPOWER" featuring Justin Bieber

will.i.am's solo album #willpower will officially hit stores next week. It is now being streamed for free over Vevo. "#thatPOWER" has already climbed into the top 10 of the dance songs chart. It is a top 10 pop success at home in Canada for featured singer Justin Bieber.


10. J. Cole - "Power Trip" featuring Miguel

"Power Trip" is the first single from hip hop artist J. Cole's upcoming second album Born Sinner. His first album Cole World topped the album chart. Guest performer Miguel is a Grammy Award winner for his hit single "Adorn."
