These are the hottest 10 pop songs of the week as determined by About Top 40. This chart is compiled consulting data from various music industry charts and sources. It is intended to indicate the hottest rising hits. Recordings that have reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart are disqualified from this chart.

1. Calvin Harris - "Sweet Nothing" featuring Florence Welch

"Sweet Nothing" has topped the dance chart in both the US and the UK. Calvin Harris has been nominated for a 2013 Brit Award for Best British Male. This is his second nomination in this category and third nomination overall. Calvin Harris' current album 18 Months ranked as the #17 album of the year in the UK.

2. Pitbull - "Don't Stop the Party" featuring TJR

Although the song "Don't Stop the Party" has quickly become another significant pop hit for Pitbull, the accompanying music video has encountered strong negative commentary for its explicit sexual content. It has been banned from being broadcast in the UK.

3. Swedish House Mafia featuring John Martin - "Don't You Worry Child"

Swedish House Mafia recently announced that they are throwing a black tie rave party on February 28, 2013 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. "Don't You Worry Child" has become the trio's biggest worldwide pop smash hit. It has also topped the dance chart in both the US and the UK.

4. Maroon 5 - "Daylight"

Maroon 5 were originally formed as a group in 1994 with the name Kara's Flowers. Since then they have released four studio albums and all of them have reached the top 10. Maroon 5 have also reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 six times including the group's last three singles in a row.

5. Mumford and Sons - "I Will Wait"

Although they previously performed quite well on the album charts, "I Will Wait" is the first major hit single for Mumford and Sons in both the US and the UK. It is currently resting just outside the top 10 in both countries. "I Will Wait" has sold over one million downloads in the US. The song's success has spread elsewhere around the world climbing into the top 10 in Canada and New Zealand.

6. Justin Timberlake - "Suit and Tie" featuring Jay-Z

"Suit and Tie" is the introductory single for the first new Justin Timberlake album in more than six years. It will be titled The 20/20 Experience. The sound of the song is reminiscent of classic early 70s soul.

"Little Talks" was originally released over a year ago, but it has had a slow climb among pop fans and on pop radio. Along the way the song has sold over a million copies and reached the top 10 at adult pop, alternative, and rock radio. The success of "Little Talks" is international having reached the top 10 in countries across Europe.

8. Pink - "Try"

Pink's birth name is Alecia Moore. She was a gymnast as a girl and has said her first dream was to become an Olympic gymnast. However, she joined her first band in high school and began performing live at the age of 14. She signed her first recording contract as part of the three girl R&B group Choice at age 16.

"Catch My Breath" is the first single from Kelly Clarkson's first Greatest Hits collection. "It's Time" spent 32 weeks in the top 10 of the alternative songs chart in 2012. That was the record for the year. In November, 2012 the song was certified platinum for sales.
