It is intended to indicate the hottest rising hits. Recordings that have reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart are disqualified from this chart.

Sales totals of Flo Rida's most recent album Wild Ones are more than twice that of his previous album Only One Flo (Part 1). The album has already generated three multi-platinum top 10 hit singles. "I Cry" has reached #2 on the rap songs chart.

2. Lumineers - "Ho Hey"

Folk rock band the Lumineers are among the top new artists of 2012. "Ho Hey" is beginning to break the group in Europe as well as the US and Canada. The song is a #12 hit in the UK and has charted in Belgium, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands.

3. One Direction - "Little Things"

The second single from One Direction's album Take Me Home was co-written by singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The group performed the song live on X Factor. The album Take Me Home was released this week.

"Beauty and a Beat" borrows much of its sound from classic disco music. Nicki Minaj references Justin Bieber's now former girlfriend Selena Gomez in her rap. The song is climbing pop charts across Europe and has reached #16 on the UK pop singles chart.

Nicki Minaj is in this week's chart as both a lead artist and featured artist. In 2012 alone "Va Va Voom" is Nicki Minaj's sixth time to reach the Billboard Hot 100

as lead artist and fifth as featured artist.

Pink has received critical acclaim for the "Try" music video. The clip was directed by Floria Sigismondi. It depicts Pink and a male performer expressing frustration through dance. "Try" is climbing pop music charts around the world and has reached the pop top 20 in Canada.

"Hall Of Fame" has a notably more upbeat sound and point of view than the Script's earlier melancholy pop hits. The song has peaked inside the top 5 on Australia's pop singles chart and has been certified three times platinum. It has reached #1 on the pop singles chart in the UK.
