1. Rihanna - "You Da One"
Rihanna sails along with the second massive hit from her upcoming Talk That Talk album. "You Da One" lands in the top 25 of the pop radio airplay chart in less than a week. She is currently sitting comfortably at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "We Found Love" featuring Calvin Harris. Talk That Talk hits stores next week November 21, 2011.
2. Bruno Mars - "It Will Rain"
Bruno Mars has received a boost for "It Will Rain" from the release of the soundtrack to Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 which features the song. The music video for the song debuted last week as well. "It Will Rain" is a top 20 hit at both adult pop and mainstream pop radio.
3. Katy Perry - "The One That Got Away"
Katy Perry may not earn a sixth #1 hit from Teenage Dream with "The One That Got Away," but it is looking nearly assured of top 10 status. the music video for the song was released last week, and it includes footage of Katy Perry as an older woman looking back on the past. "The One That Got Away" is a hit at adult pop radio as well as mainstream pop radio.
4. Coldplay - "Paradise"
"Paradise" is a #1 hit at AAA or adult alternative radio for Coldplay. In addition it has hit the top 10 on the alternative songs and rock songs chart. The album Mylo Xyloto which includes the song became Coldplay's third #1 album in the US and their fifth #1 in the UK. "Paradise" is a top 15 pop hit in the UK.
5. T-Pain - "5 O'Clock" featuring Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen
T-Pain says that the title of his album RevolveR is stylized by beginning and ending with capital R's to point out the word "evolve" in the middle of the title. This is meant to indicate that T-Pain has evolved as an artist. The album RevolveR is due for release December 6, 2011.
6. J. Cole - "Work Out"
Rapper J. Cole was born in Frankfurt, Germany to a European American mother and African American father. While still an infant he moved to North Carolina where he grew up. Since the release of his second mixtape The Warm Up in 2009 on Jay-Z's Roc Nation label, J. Cole has been one of the most closely watched new artists. His debut album Cole World hit #1 earlier this year.
7. Selena Gomez and the Scene - "Love You Like a Love Song"
Selena Gomez have hung around on pop singles charts since June with "Love You Like a Love Song." It surges forward and then drops back then surges forward again. Meanwhile "Love You Like a Love Song" has been certified gold and reached the top 5 on the dance chart. It is the fifth consecutive top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 for Selena Gomez and the Scene.
8. Gavin DeGraw - "Not Over You"
"Not Over You" is the first single from Gavin DeGraw's album Sweeter He co-wrote the song with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. It is one of two songs the pair wrote together for Sweeter. "Not Over You" is a top 10 adult pop hit.
9. Outasight - "Tonight Is the Night"
Outasight is the stage name for singer and rapper Richard Andrew. He received a big break when "Tonight Is the Night" was chosen as the music for a Pepsi "Who's Next?" series of commercials airing on broadcasts of X Factor USA. His debut album is on the way perhaps by the end of the year.
10. Drake - "Headlines"
Drake's album Take Care was released this week on November 15, 2011. It is a follow up to the #1 debut collection Thank Me Later. "Headlines" has topped the rap songs chart and reached #2 on the R&B songs chart.
