These are the hottest 10 pop songs of the week as determined by About Top 40. This chart is compiled consulting data from various music industry charts and sources. It is intended to indicate the hottest rising hits. Recordings that have reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart are disqualified from this chart.

Rihanna filmed the upcoming music video for "We Found Love" in Northern Ireland. She faced local controversy after appearing topless during filming. "We Found Love" is already a top 10 hit in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Norway. It is likely to become her 20th top 10 hit single in the US.


2. David Guetta - "Without You" featuring Usher

"Without You" is already a top 10 hit for David Guetta in many countries around the world. David Guetta, who was born in Paris, France, has a multi-ethnic background. His father is of Moroccan descent, and his mother is Belgian. David Guetta got his start in the music industry DJ'ing in Paris at the age of 17.


3. Jason Derulo - "It Girl"

The phrase "it girl" dates back to the early part of the 20th century meaning a girl with "it," or the ability to attract attention. Clara Bow starred in the 1927 film It and became known worldwide as the "It girl." Jason Derulo has taken the song "It Girl" to the top 10 in the UK. It has been certified gold in Australia and New Zealand.

4. Kelly Clarkson - "Mr. Know It All"

Kelly Clarkson's upcoming album Stronger is being seen as a return to the blend of styles in her first two albums Thankful and Breakaway. She will incorporate elements of both R&B and country. Stronger is set to be released to stores October 24, 2011. Kelly Clarkson has gone to the top 3 with all of her four studio albums.


5. B.o.B. - "Strange Clouds" featuring Lil Wayne

B.o.B. says his upcoming second album is a happy medium between his first album The Adventures Of Bobby Ray and his earlier mixtapes. Sales for "Strange Clouds" have been very strong. It moved to #1 on the iTunes singles sales chart during its first week of release.


6. New Boyz - "Better With the Lights Off" featuring Chris Brown

New Boyz are a duo known as Ben J and Legacy. They will turn 20 later this month. The pair met at Hesperia High school in Hesperia, California. The pair began performing as a hip hop duo called Swagger Boyz in 2008. New Boyz now have five top 15 rap hits to their credit.

7. Dev - "In the Dark"

Among the remixes available for "In the Dark" is one featuring Flo Rida. The song is a top 5 hit on the dance chart. Dev's sing-speak style is clearly influenced by hip hop. She says that the music of Eminem changed her life. Dev appears as a featured vocalist on David Guetta's Nothing But the Beat album.

8. Flo Rida - "Good Feeling"

"Good Feeling" is the first single from Flo Rida's upcoming fourth studio album Only One Rida (Part 2). The song is already a top 10 pop hit in Finland, France, New Zealand, and Sweden. It was co-produced by Dr. Luke and Swedish DJ and producer Avicii. The new album is expected sometime by the end of 2011.


9. Britney Spears - "Criminal"

"Criminal" is Britney Spears' fourth single from the album Femme Fatale. The three previous singles all reached the top 10. "Criminal" is the only ballad from the album. All four releases have been co-written and co-produced by Max Martin.


10. Nicole Scherzinger - "Don't Hold Your Breath"

Nicole Scherzinger is gaining a significant amount of exposure as a judge on X Factor USA. "Don't Hold Your Breath" has gone to #1 on the pop singles chart in the UK and it is a top 20 dance hit in the US. Nicole Scherzinger's solo debut album Killer Love is expected to finally get a US release November 15, 2011.
