LMFAO are perhaps one of the biggest worldwide pop surprises of 2011. "Sexy and I Know It" is the follow up single to their #1 smash "Party Rock Anthem." The music video for "Sexy and I Know It" was released this week and stars LMFAO member Redfoo stripping down to a speedo along with a whole host of other men.
5. Dev - "In the Dark"
Dev is featured on Demi Lovato's new album Unbroken. She performs vocals on the song "Who's That Boy." The release of her own debut album has been pushed back to November 1, 2011. "In the Dark" is a top 20 hit on the dance music chart.
6. Patrick Stump - "This City" featuring Lupe Fiasco
Patrick Stump, lead vocalist for Fall Out Boy, says that "This City" changed the entire direction of his debut solo album Soul Punk. He says he had nearly completed the album and at the last minute came up with "This City." He liked the new song so much he decided to build the entire album around it.
7. Selena Gomez and the Scene - "Love You Like a Love Song"
Selena Gomez has sold over 500,000 copies of "Love You Like a Love Song" in its first month of release. It won the Teen Choice Award this year for Best Love Song. It is the fifth top 40 pop hit for Selena Gomez and the Scene.
8. The Script - "Nothing"
Both of the Script's albums have hit #1 in their native Ireland. "Nothing" is the third adult pop radio top 10 for the group. It is nearing the top 20 on the mainstream top 40 pop radio chart.
9. Coldplay - "Paradise"
The upcoming music video for Coldplay's "Paradise" will be directed by Hype Williams. According to band member Chris Martin, the group's upcoming Mylo Xyloto album will be a concept album based around a love story with a happy ending. The album has been inspired by American graffiti and the White Rose movement, a non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany.
10. Alexandra Stan - "Mr. Saxobeat"
"Mr. Saxobeat" won the 2011 Romania Music Award for Best Song. It has been a worldwide pop hit and a cross format success in the US. "Mr. Saxobeat" is a hit on pop, dance and Latin music charts. The song was produced by Marcel Prodan of Romania.
