These are the hottest 10 pop songs of the week as determined by About Top 40. This chart is compiled consulting data from various music industry charts and sources. It is intended to indicate the hottest rising hits. Recordings that have reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart are disqualified from this chart.

1. Lorde - "Royals"

16 year old Lorde is headed to the US later this month for a series of concert performances. Her song "Royals" is turning into one of the big pop hits to watch this fall. The song has already sold over 600,000 copies here in the US. It has topped both the alternative and the rock songs radio charts.

2. Drake - "Hold On We're Going Home"

Drake's third studio album Nothing Was the Same is scheduled to be released September 24, 2013. His first two albums have both reached #1 on the album chart and have been certified double platinum for sales. Drake has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards and received one for Best Rap Album earlier this year.

3. Eminem - "Berzerk"

Eminem's album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is set to be released November 5, 2013. Rick Rubin and Dr. Dre have both worked on production. "Berzerk" is quickly beginning to climb pop music charts around the world. It is already a top 20 pop hit single in both Australia and New Zealand.

4. Miley Cyrus - "Wrecking Ball"

Miley Cyrus is set to release her fourth studio album Bangerz on October 4, 2013. The new collection is expected to have a strong influence from hip hop. The music video from Miley Cyrus' previous hit "We Can't Stop" set a record for the fastest clip to 100 million views taking only 37 days.

5. Sara Bareilles - "Brave"

Sara Bareilles' single "Brave" is gaining significant exposure through comparisons between it and Katy Perry's new hit "Roar." Some believe it is a case of plagiarism. Sara Bareilles has tweeted about the controversy simply saying, "All love, everybody. All love." "Brave" has reached the top 10 on the adult pop radio chart.

6. Robin Thicke - "Give It 2 U" featuring Kendrick Lamar

"Give It 2 U" is the second single from Robin Thicke's #1 hit album Blurred Lines. The music video for the single was directed by Diana Martel who directed the music video for his #1 smash song "Blurred Lines." The music video includes additional rapping from 2 Chainz and both 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar appear in the clip.

7. Big Sean - "Beware" featuring Jhene Aiko and Lil Wayne

Rapper Big Sean was one of the biggest new artist of 2011. His debut release Finally Famous hit #3 on the album chart. It featured three top 5 R&B hit singles including the top 10 pop hit "Dance (A$$)." "Beware" is the first single from Big Sean's second studio album Hall Of Fame which was released last week.

8. Selena Gomez - "Slow Down"

Earlier this summer Selena Gomez hit #1 on the album chart for the first time with her official solo debut Stars Dance. "Slow Down" is the second single from the project. It was produced and co-written by the Cataracs. "Slow Down" is already a top 20 hit on the dance songs chart.

9. AWOLNATION - "Sail"

Rock band AWOLNATION was formed by Aaron Bruno in 2009. They released their first album Megalithic Symphony in March 2011. It has climbed into the top 20 on the alternative albums chart. Three songs from the album have reached the top 10 on the alternative songs chart including "Sail." The song first entered the Billboard Hot 100 in September 2011 for a 20 week run. It re-entered the chart earlier this year and continues a slow climb.

10. Chris Brown - "Love More" featuring Nicki Minaj

"Love More" is the third single from Chris Brown's upcoming studio album X. It was debuted with a live performance at the 2013 BET Awards. "Love More" has hit the top 10 on the R&B singles chart in the UK.
