Robyn Rihanna Fenty, now called simply Rihanna, relocated to New York City in early 2005 to begin recording her first album. Evan Rogers helped lead the project to record the first single "Pon De Replay." It was released in August, 2005 and began quickly climbing the pop singles charts in the US and the UK. The infectious dance floor smash went to #2 on both sides of the Atlantic.
